AI is entirely optional

JurisNote for Law Schools & Institutions

Bring the complete, purpose-built law-school study system to your students — configured to your program, with AI features you can turn on, turn off, or leave behind entirely.

AI is optional — always

JurisNote is a study system first and an AI product never. Adopt it with AI on, with AI off, or somewhere in between — the platform stands on its own either way.

Every core workflow works fully without AI. Case briefs, the Rules engine, outlines, flashcards with spaced repetition, and exam prep are all built to be used with zero AI involvement.

AI features are user-invoked and clearly labeled. Anything produced with AI carries a visible “AI Generated” badge, so students and faculty always know what came from the student and what came from the system.

AI can be turned off to match your policies. For schools or professors that restrict or prohibit generative AI, the AI accelerators can be disabled while the rest of the platform keeps working exactly as before.

AI assists; it doesn't do the work for the student. Its output is presented for review and editing before anything is saved — a preparation aid, not a tool for producing submitted assignments.

Why institutions choose JurisNote

One system for the whole journey

Lectures, case briefs, a black-letter Rules engine, outlines, flashcards, Socratic cold-call practice, and exam prep — a single purpose-built platform instead of a patchwork of general tools students have to assemble themselves.

Privacy and data ownership by default

Student notes, briefs, and study materials are private to their account. We don't sell student data or use it to train public AI models. Access to every user-scoped record is enforced by per-request authorization checks, with database row-level-security policies as defense-in-depth.

Students keep their work

Outlines export to Microsoft Word and PDF, case briefs print or save to PDF, and flashcard decks export to Anki (.apkg) with their review scheduling. Nothing is locked in — data leaves with the student.

Built with accessibility in mind

Keyboard navigation and screen-reader support are built in, and automated accessibility (axe-core) checks run in our test suite against WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. See our accessibility statement and conformance report (VPAT) at /accessibility for the current per-criterion status.

Built for your IT and administration

Roll it out the way your institution already works — single sign-on, automated provisioning, seat management, and administrative controls.

Single sign-on (SAML 2.0 & OIDC)

Students and faculty sign in with your institution's identity provider — Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, or Shibboleth. Your admins configure and test SSO from the org settings; there's no separate JurisNote password to manage.

Automated provisioning (SCIM 2.0)

Connect SCIM and accounts are created, updated, and deactivated automatically as people join and leave your program. Deprovisioning disables the account, ends its sessions, and frees the seat.

Seat-based licensing

License a set number of seats. The platform enforces the cap automatically and reconciles seat usage against your verified membership.

A dedicated admin console

Invite and verify members, assign roles, manage courses, moderate shared content, and toggle features per school — including turning AI on or off for your entire institution.

Audit trail & FERPA disclosure log

A filterable, exportable log of every admin action, plus a record of who accessed a student's education records — so a student can review their own disclosure history.

Your identity and access rules

Verify your email domains, control who can join, and apply your institution's name, logo, and colors.

Let's talk about your program

Tell us about your school, your rough headcount, and your AI policy, and we'll put together a plan that fits — including how (or whether) AI is enabled for your students.
